Mokwa says he's done nothing wrong
There have been media reports that in 2002 the Chief's daughter, Aimie Mokwa, was in a car accident involving a car from Park's Auto Sales that she never purchased.
In a statement Mokwa made Tuesday he denied all allegations that he used the power of his office to obtain special deals for his daughter.
"I love my daughter and have great compassion for her personal struggles, but I would not and have not done anything to help her in her personal dealings with S&H nor with its 'as-is' car salvage business Parks Auto Sales," Mokwa said.
Mokwa apologized for failed to recognize the significance of information that surfaced in 2002.
Last Friday the St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners cleared the chief of any wrong-doing, that investigation will now be re-opened along with the participation of the U.S. Attorney's Office in St. Louis.
