Metro settles cross county lawsuit for $6 million
Following their court victory last year, the Cross-County Collaborative was seeking reimbursement of $27 million in legal costs.
The CCC settled for $6 million, resolving all claims and appeals in the lengthy legal battle.
Metro originally sued the CCC for $81 million for cost overruns and delays in the Metrolink expansion.
Metro lost that case in November.
"I think it was a hard won series of negotiations that people walked away from, feeling like they could live with this decision," said Dianne Williams, a spokeswoman for Metro.
The settlement includes $2.56 million that a jury awarded the CCC on its claims of breach of contract. The deal also included a "companion settlement" that will remain sealed from the public.
