(St. Louis Public Radio) -
A Brazilian newspaper reports that St.
Louis-based Anheuser-Busch is in talks to unite with another of the world's largest beermakers.Both Anheuser-Busch and Belgium-based InBev declined to comment Thursday on the report in the Brazilian paper.
Industry watchers say a business combination would make long-term strategic sense.
Analysts say InBev would gain greater marketing and distribution power in the United States. Meanwhile, Anheuser-Busch could strengthen its distribution network around the world.
