Candidates for state Senate raise $2.4 million

(KOSU) - Candidates for the state Senate have raised more than $2.4 million for their campaigns with five weeks still to go before election day.
There are eleven Senate races as Republicans and Democrats battle for control of the chamber.
The Senate is currently split with 24 Democrats and 24 Republicans. The GOP has never had the majority in the Senate.
The biggest fundraiser is incumbent Democratic Senator Tom Adelson of Tulsa who has raised just over $406,000.
Second is Republican candidate Jim Halligan of Stillwater with just under $255,000 in campaign contributions.
