The Tulsa Youth Symphony will present its 50th Anniversary Concert on Tuesday, February 18 at 7:30pm in the Lorton Performance Center at the University of Tulsa.
The Concert Orchestra, conducted by Pete Peterson, will open the concert with music by Richard Wagner, Girolamo Frescobaldi, John Williams and Gioachino Rossini.
The Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ron Wheeler and Rick Wagner, will feature the Premiere of "Buffalo Run" by TU composer Joseph Rivers. Guest soloist for the concert is TYSO alumnus Jeff Shadley, who will perform the first movement of Haydn's Trumpet Concerto. The orchestra also will perform the Overture to "The Royal Fireworks" by Handel and March to The Scaffold from Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Belioz.
General admission is $10, $6 for seniors (60 and over) and children 12 and under.
