Visiting holiday guests may not know Mariposa is believed to be the smallest town in all America with its own symphony orchestra. This year's MSO Festive Holiday Concert will be held just before Christmas on Saturday, December 21, 2013. The one-night-only concert in the Fiester Auditorium of Mariposa County High School has been programmed by MSO Music Director/Conductor Les Marsden with classical holiday favorites including Tchaikovsky's beloved Nutcracker Suite of course, but also Beethoven's greatest overture, the best-loved waltz not by Strauss, a dance from the Nutcracker even ballet aficionados haven't heard before and much more. Tickets are $6 for adults/$4 for students and are on sale at the Mariposa County Arts Council's office at 5009 Highway 140 in Mariposa (top floor of Chocolate Soup) adjacent to the Mariposa Art Park.
