Over 40 nations will be represented at the International Festival hosted by the Oaks Community Church. It takes place Sunday, March 3, 2013. Admission is free. The festival is educational and fun, with activities for the entire family including face-painting and arts & crafts for the kids. There will also be prize raffles. One of the highlights of the festival is a huge community style buffet featuring scrumptious ethnic foods. Oaks attendees have assembled creative and informative booths showing what life is like in various countries. A joyous “March of the Nations” caps the festivities. Festival-goers will hear talks on global issues such as human trafficking; how to have a positive impact cross-culturally, and opportunities to partner with groups that are helping locally and worldwide. The featured speaker is Alan Kropp, an American whose family is serving in Japan. Alan has inspirational reports about the ongoing efforts in the wake of the devastating earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster that struck Fukushima last year.
