Sherb Talks: Jeff Hall from Lowell Observatory
“Our Variable Sun and How it Affects Us”
Astronomers at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff have been studying the Sun, and the stars most similar to it, for sixty years. Our star is constantly changing, and its variations affect Earth and its climate. Learn about our Sun and its violent changes, how they affect us, and how astronomers use other stars to try to peer into our own star’s future.
Jeffrey Hall has served as Director of Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ, since June 2010. He joined the staff at Lowell in 1992 as a postdoctoral research fellow.
