The Western Slope Concert Series presents the Mientka Quartet in two concerts: on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at 7:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction, and Sunday, Jan. 5 at 3:00 PM at the Montrose Pavilion. Tickets are available online at www.JunctionConcerts.com, and at Roper Music in Grand Junction and the Montrose Pavilion. All seats are reserved, and start at $9 in advance and $12 at the door for adults.
The entire Mientka family will join in this special concert for viola, cello and piano, and will include one dance piece to be performed by accomplished ballerina Rosemarie Mientka. The program will include the beautiful “miniatures” by French romantic composer Paul Juon; Gershwin’s exciting “Preludes”, a jazzy and entertaining work by American composer Paul Coletti, and a number of unusual “jewels” from the romantic era. Rosemarie will perform a haunting modern dance piece, accompanied by solo viola.
