North Korean State TV Reports Kim Jong Il is Dead

(kuvo) - North Korean state television is reporting that North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has died at 69. It is believed that the secretive, iron-fisted ruler suffered a stroke back in 2008, and he is said to have had diabetes and heart disease. Jong Il inherited power from his father, Kim Il Sung in 1994. His third son was named a successor last year. The death with add uncertainty to a tenuous situation on the Korean peninsula.
