How to Watch the Presidential Debates
Originally, British political debates were judged on the following five criteria: clarity of vision, ability to marshall resources to present one's case, intelligent presentation, courage of conviction and earnestness of purpose. Today's popular measure of applause lines and zingers don't really compare. Dr. Provizer points out that our current "debates" are more job interview than classic debate. And one should be aware of one's own bias in judging the results.
