DENVER, CO (kuvo) - It's all new at MSU-Denver. We know the institution as "Metro State," but their name change is official, and at every turn they will remind you of the new name. MSU-Denver president Dr. Steven Jordan spoke with First Take on September 7, 2012. He bragged about the new Student Services Building, "a one-stop shop for all student business."

Jordan said the urban university was just getting around to focusing on freshmen in the past couple of years, but he's expecting the continued improvement in student retention. The strategy is to target freshmen with mentors, support services and lots of encouragement.
