E-CHIEVEMENT AWARD INTERVIEW: BILL McKIBBEN
eTown travels to the historic Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder, in celebration of their second annual 'Grand Convergence,' to tape this special two-part broadcast. Here in Part One, there's an extraordinary performance from folk and pop music legend, Judy Collins. She shares a set of gorgeous songs, some stripped down and others featuring fine accompaniment by Nick & Helen Forster and the Etones, and her long-time pianist and music director, Russell Walden. And Nick's chat with Judy delves deeply into the roots of music and her life as a performer. Also, long-time eTown favorite and reigning queen of folk Shawn Colvin is back, too. And don't miss the interview with our special, 'in person' listener-nominated E-Chievement Award winner: author, educator, and activist, Bill McKibben. There's great stuff here in Part One, and in Part Two airing for you next week, in eTown.

Last week: WARREN HAYNES / LANGHORNE SLIM

eTown welcomes two exciting 'first-timers' for this broadcast. Warren Haynes (of Gov't Mule and The Allman Brothers) stops by to share some sparse, solo acoustic versions of his tunes. He's not only one of the world's greatest guitarists, he's also a passionate singer, too. Then, up and coming acoustic roots rocker, Langhorne Slim digs in with his band mates to rock the house. Hosts Nick & Helen Forster present the E-Chievement Award to an inspiring hero who's making a huge difference in the lives of those living in war-torn African countries. Tune in to a spectacular eTown broadcast this week!
