The nephew of slide-guitar legend J.B. Hutto, Lil' Ed Williams's booming voice and signature slide-guitar sound have become staples on the Chicago-area blues scene The nephew of slide-guitar legend J.B. Hutto, Lil' Ed Williams is small in stature only: His booming voice and signature slide-guitar sound have become staples on the Chicago-area blues scene since the band emerged in the late '80s. In 2009, Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials was named Band of the Year at the Blues Music Awards.

With James "Pookie" Young on bass, Michael Garrett on guitar and Kelly Littleton on drums, Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials has featured the same lineup since it made its first appearance on Mountain Stage in 1989. The band has established an international following with its constant touring and six albums for Alligator Records, including the latest, Full Tilt! The band has toured Europe, Japan and Canada, while Lil' Ed was featured on Late Night With Conan O'Brien when it filmed in Chicago.
