Kirkwood Getting Greener KIRKWOOD, CA (KUNR) - The Kirkwood ski area plans to install
20 wind turbines that would provide the resort with pollution free
power. Kirkwood is set to become the first ski resort in the nation
to get a significant amount of its electricity from locally
generated renewable energy. The resort says it would end its need
to use fossil fuels for eight months of the year.
