On September 22, The Ampersand Project in Madrid, NM will be hosting a mushroom cultivation workshop entitled “Mushroom Cultivation for Dryland Environments.” This workshop will be taught by members of Radical Mycology, a grassroots organization touring North America this fall to teach low-cost skills related to working with fungi. The event on August 22 will cost $10-30 (suggested donation) and will be held from 6-9 PM at The Ampersand Sustainable Learning Center in Madrid (exact location provided upon registration). The workshop “Mushroom Cultivation for Dryland Environments” will introduce participants to the theory & practice behind simple mushroom cultivation both indoors and in arid gardens using simple techniques and minimal equipment. Topics will include incorporating mushrooms into water catchment and grey water systems, growing and processing medicinal fungal "roots" (mycelium), indoor mushroom fruiting, and more.
