The fourth in a series of award-winning Spanish films presented by the Spanish Resource Center and the NHCC, El Método explores the question of how far an applicant will go to land a high-level corporate position. This backstabbing 2005 boardroom drama takes its name from a mysterious human-resources strategy supposedly imported from the United States as a means of assessing the applicants' respective merits. While the streets of Madrid fill with anti-globalization demonstrators, the seven final candidates for an executive position at a multinational company find themselves pitted against one another in a contest that elicits fear, suspicion, paranoia, and betrayal.
Nominated for five Goya Awards, El Método won for Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor. The Goya Awards, or los Premios Goya, established in 1987, are Spain's primary national annual film awards and are considered the equivalent of the Academy Awards in the U.S.
