October 12 Opera Southwest will present another in its increasingly popular series of Pre-Opera Seminars, this preceding the opening October 20 of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Maestro Anthony Barrese will share insights into this ever-popular opera with a look at the musical construction of the opera, what it means that OSW is presenting the “Prague Version” of the work and how the OSW production will present a unique take on what is possibly the only opera never to have been dropped from the standard repertory in more than 200 years. The public is invited to join us, but all attendance is by advance reservation only at www.operasouthwest.org/education /pre-operaseminars, where you will be prompted to send your check for $10; members of the Museum Foundation are offered a 10% discount. The seminar is from 10:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday, October 12, at the Albuquerque Museum or Art and History, 2000 Mountain Rd., N.W.; a brief Q & A will follow and light refreshments will be served.
