WAS, founded in 1978, iis a nonprofit educational organization serving pollinator enthusiasts and beekeepers in the western states and provinces of the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Pacific Islands. This is the first year that WAS is coming to the Land of Enchantment for its annual conference and won't be returning for another 5-10 years!
FREE ADMISSION TO: Benefit art exhibit, "Tiny Heroes: Celebrating the Beauty of Our Pollinators," Featuring Santa Fe artist, Kathryn Alexander and friends. Running concurrently as WAS conference in La Fonda Hotel Mezzanine. Opening reception with free educational presentations Thursday, October 17th, 2013 5:30-7:30pm. On exhibit at La Fonda through Saturday, October 19th.
Bee Buzz Kid's Corner Exhibit FREE: Friday 3-6pm La Fonda Santa Fe Room. Children and their families can come and learn about pollinators, view live bees in an observation hive, make a beeswax candle, and taste honeys.
