Each month, the National Hispanic Cultural Center invites families for a short tour of the Art Museum, followed by a hands-on art-making session inspired by the tour. The "Stitching Truth" exhibition is our focus and inspiration for this activity. After discussing a few of the works of art, Micaela Seidel will teach several basic embroidery stitches and an applique technique that are used in arpilleras on display in the exhibit. This is a free event, but we invite donations in any amount to support the project and pay the artists! Contact Elsa Menendez, elsa.menendez@state.nm.us or 505.246.2261, ext 189.
