Regional
Building Greener Schools
TINMATH, CO
(KUNC) -
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED certification was created in the 1990's to evaluate green construction. Over the years, it has set environmental standards for office buildings, hospitals, homes, and now, schools. KUNC's Grace Hood stopped by the recently opened Bethke Elementary near Ft. Collins Wednesday night, which is the first in the nation to be certified under the new "LEED for Schools" rating.
