In Denver, Tribal Leaders Protest Mining Expansion DENVER, CO (KUNC) - Native American leaders and activists from Arizona staged a protest Monday afternoon in downtown Denver in front of the Office of Surface Mining. Navajo and Hopi tribal officials want federal officials to delay a controversial plan to expand mining that they say could disrupt their water supplies.
