Statewide AMBER ALERT cancelled
(2008-08-26)
(KUNC) - A statewide Amber Alert has been cancelled, after the arrest of a man who fled with his infant daughter after allegedly wounding the girl's mother with a knife. Authorities said earlier this morning that 28-year-old Justin Lampkins had taken his five-month-old daughter, Avya, after a knifepoint confrontation with her mother. Mr. Lampkins was arrested in the Colorado Springs area just hours after the Amber Alert was first issued.

Police in Alamosa say the girl's mother was taken to the hospital because of cuts suffered in the confrontation, but she's expected to be okay.
