Colorado Places; Fairy Caves GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO (KUNC) - We continue our year long series Colorado Places, a radio road trip around the Centennial state. The series is based on your suggestions, and we had many for the western slope town of Glenwood Springs. The longtime tourist enclave is home to Doc Holiday's grave, the historic Hotel Colorado, and of course the mineral springs and baths themselves. But just above those springs lies an impressive labyrinth of deep and twisting caverns called the Fairy Caves, touted as the Eighth Wonder of the World when they opened in 1887.
