A daylong conference reviewing some of the best options for removing and using beetle-kill timber will be held today, Friday, December 8, 2006, by several staff members of Colorado U-S Senator Ken Salazar. The meeting is from 9 am - 3 pm at the Frisco Recreation Building, 110 S. Third Ave., Frisco.

Anyone traveling in the Colorado mountains recently has noticed what appears to be large tracks of dead and dying trees. Typically, we blame this on the mountain pine beetle. But is this kind of die-off unusual?
