Little Deschutes Fire Almost Contained
The Little Deschutes fire started Sunday afternoon just south of the small town of Crescent between Bend and Klamath Falls. About 100 firefighters have been working around the clock since then to control the blaze. Fanned by winds up to 15 miles an hour, the fire spread across the Little Deschutes River and came within a quarter mile of Highway 97.
A spokesman for the Central Oregon Interagency Dispatch Center says fire fighters expect to have the blaze contained within fire lines very soonżif that hasn't already been accomplished. They expect to have the fire under control by Thursday. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

(OPB News) - Firefighters are on the verge of containing a 108-acre fire in Central Oregon. The blaze blackened lodge pole pine forests and, at one point, threatened about 50 houses.
