Western Region Water Managers Discuss Impacts of Population Growth, Climate Change
(2009-09-30)
(KUNC) - Regional water managers meeting in Denver this week say climate change will impact the West more than any other region of the United States. Drought and dwindling snowpack will be disastrous for long-standing water storage programs they say, even as population growth is expected to continue to soar. Water managers and state leaders including Governor Bill Ritter are tackling these problems as part of the Western States Water Council's annual symposium. In a minute, we'll hear from Governor Bill Ritter. But first, we have this report from KUNC's Kirk Siegler
