Researchers explore ways to control rock snot

During the past few years, an algae nicknamed "rock snot" has bloomed in many of Colorado's rivers. The explosion has fishermen, river-lovers, and water managers worried about its impact on water quality and fish populations. Now, researchers at the University of Colorado at Boulder may have found a relatively simple way to control the problem.
