BaoBao Festival is celebrating its 10th year of bringing West African singing, storytelling, drumming and dance to Colorado! For generations, people in West Africa have gathered under the baobab tree to share stories through singing, dancing and drumming. BaoBao Festival has re-created this tradition in Colorado each year by bringing together professional artists from West Africa to join local artists for a week of workshops and performances. The Festival is also the driving force behind the BaoBao Library Project (baobaolibrary.org) which is building a library and computer lab in Ghana. |
