Dates and Times:
March 11, 7:00PM-8:00PM
Come celebrate the history of women in Colorado with author and historian Gail M. Beaton. Her book "Colorado Women: A History" is the first full-length chronicle of the lives, roles, and contributions of women in Colorado from prehistory through the modern day. A national leader in women's rights, Colorado was one of the first states to approve suffrage and the first to elect a woman to its legislature. This book is a pioneering attempt to cover a broad spectrum of women and women's roles in a statewide perspective. Native American Hispanic, Asian, and Anglo women's stories hail from across the state.
Gail M. Beaton is a retired public school teacher and former community college instructor. She is also a Chautauqua presenter for the Colorado Humanities Speaker's Bureau. Following her presentation, she will be taking questions and signing books.
