Montanans know that wildfires and floods are common disasters in our state. But did you know that Montana is also one of the most seismically active states in the country? A major earthquake can occur at any time, and all residents should take steps to be prepared.
On October 23, 2013 at 10:23AM, Montanans from across the state will drop, cover, and hold on as part of the 2013 Rocky Mountain ShakeOut, our first statewide earthquake drill. The drill will educate residents about earthquake hazards and the appropriate actions to take in the event that the ground beneath you begins to shake.
