5/12/09: Born to Run
(2009-05-11)
"Huaraches" like those worn by the Tarahumara Indians in Mexico. From Barefoot Ted's Adventures
(kuer) - Journalist Christopher McDougall says we think about running all wrong in the West. We believe it will hurt, it's a sort of punishment for eating and that we need special equipment to do it. When McDougall sustained his own injury, he had a lot of questions about running. That's when he met the Tarahumara Indians in Mexico. They run hundreds of miles - in sandals - and have a blast doing it. Tuesday, Christopher McDougall joins Doug to explain why humans are "Born to Run."

Tonight at 7:00 p.m., Christopher McDougall will be at The King's English Bookshop to read and sign his book. The shop is at 1511 S 1500 East, and for more information, call the store at 801-484-9100.
