How Much Can We Really Do About Global Warming?
(2009-12-02)
University of Utah
(kuer) - What's the cost of our wealth in energy? It works out to about 9.7 milliwatts per dollar in the world economy. That constant is in a paper recently published by University of Utah climate scientist Tim Garrett, an associate professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Utah.
Garrett has concluded that the acceleration in global warming caused by carbon dioxide emissions is unlikely to change as long as our economies keep growing. He bases that on a well-understood principle of physics called the heat engine.

Tim Garrett's personal web page contains a link to his recent study on energy conservation and global warming.
