Fraud Prompts New Safeguards at DMV

Two Department of Motor Vehicles employees and a private citizen from Bridgeport were charged Wednesday with being involved in a scheme to sell forged Connecticut drivers licenses. It s the second round of arrests involving license fraud this year by state police. Last summer a former Norwalk D-M-V employee was charged with accepting bribes of up to 15 hundred dollars to issue driver s licenses to illegal immigrants. The DMV is now working on new safeguards to prevent further fraud.
