A new poll shows that Jon Huntsman Junior is well ahead of fellow Republican Nolan Karras in a head-to-head match up for the governor's office. The Deseret News/K-S-L-T-V poll, conducted by Dan Jones & Associates in May, shows that Huntsman leads Karras 58 percent to 19 percent. Against Democratic challenger Scott Matheson Junior, Huntsman would have 52 percent support compared with Matheson's 37 percent.
In a Matheson-Karras match up, Matheson leads Karras 49 percent to 34 percent.
Karras says he's not worried about the poll because he's still trying to boost his name recognition with voters.
The poll of 923 voters has a margin of error of plus or minus three percent.
