Sundance Film Fest Heads to Michigan
(2010-01-04)
(Michigan Radio) - The Sundance Institute is trying something new this time around. Instead of premiering all the festival films in Park City, Utah, 8 filmmakers will fly to 1 of 8 theaters around the country and premiere their films there.

Russ Collins is executive director of the Michigan Theater, one of the selected venues:

"The Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor was the 1st venue that they picked, we're also the smallest city and the largest theater to be screening a Sundance film festival film."

The Michigan Theater will premiere a comedy by the Duplass brothers called "Cyrus" on January 28th. It stars Marisa Tomei, John C Reilly and Jonah Hill. The Duplass brothers will be at the premiere.

Other Sundance premiere cities include Brooklyn, LA, Chicago, Boston and Madison.
