Amelia Earhart sculpture unveiled at Purdue

An Amelia Earhart sculpture is now on permanent display at Purdue.The aviator worked at the university from 1935 to 1937 and was an employee at the time of her disappearance.
Board of Trustees member Susan Butler donated the eight-foot bronze sculpture.
She says Earhart was a role model for the women students whom she advised.
The sculpture is similar to one on display in North Hollywood, California.
It depicts Earhart standing and holding onto an airplane propeller. © Copyright 2012, wbaa
