Airlines cancel flights in Oklahoma
(2008-07-01)
(KOSU) - Rising fuel prices are leading airlines to cut back on flights from Oklahoma to major cities across the country.
Tulsa International Airport spokeswoman Alexis Higgins says flights from Tulsa have been canceled to such destinations as Chicago, Denver, Cleveland and California.
Fewer cancellations were reported at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City. But a spokesman said air travelers can expected fewer flights in the future as airlines deal with rising costs.
The state's other primary airport in Lawton says it has not been yet suffered any flight cancellations because of financial pressures on the airline industry.
