The writer and cultural historian Joseph Horowitz says composers like Aaron Copland, Virgil Thomson and Roy Harris defined the iconic West in music - and that it was lean and uncluttered: "as spare as the Great Plains, Rocky Mountains and Mojave Desert." Horowitz joins Doug Wednesday for a portrait of the American Frontier in music.
