The head of mine safety in Wyoming says the state is prepared in case a disaster like this week's mine collapse in Utah strikes at home. Terry Adcock says the state has 12 mining rescue teams, each with at least six highly trained members who are prepared to go underground in case something happens in a Wyoming mine. Adcock says these teams are required by law to train at least four hours every month, but most in Wyoming train eight to 12 hours. There were no fatalities in Wyoming mines last year. Still, Adcock says an accident can occur without warning even in the safest mines.
