Arctic Photographer Interview
(2006-12-08)
(KPLU) - Subhankar Bannerjee is a former Boeing worker turned award-winning nature photographer. Starting in 2000, he spent two years shooting in the remote Artic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. He covered 4,000 miles by foot, raft, kayak, and snowmobile. Bannerjee's strikingly beautiful images were many American's first look at the place that's the focus of a high-profile oil drilling controversy. After a four-year absence from the arctic, Bannerjee went back last summer. On a recent swing through Seattle, he spoke with KPLU environment reporter Liam Moriarty about the changes he saw there. 4:30
