Huckabee angry over DuMond caller (UALR Public Radio) - A caller to Mike Huckabee's monthly talk show on the Arkansas Radio Network got under the governor's skin when he asked about Huckabee's record of granting clemency to convicted felons.

Huckabee hung up on the caller when he asserted that Huckabee had pardoned a convicted rapist who then went on to kill a woman in Kansas City, Missouri. Huckabee says it's an outright falsehood to accuse him of releasing Wayne DuMond to kill again. Former governor Jim Guy Tucker, he says, was the one who granted DuMond's request for commutation.

A decade ago, Huckabee indicated that he intended to reduce Dumond's sentence to time served, but he ended up rejecting the application for parole the same day the parole board approved Dumond's release on the condition that he move out of Arkansas. © Copyright 2010, UALR Public Radio
