Fire on Lake Ouachita destroys 29 boats, dock
Officials are still investigating the cause of yesterday morning's blaze. No one was injured, and three people asleep on pontoons were able to escape unharmed.
After catching fire, most of the boats sunk.
Officials say the fire may have started on a boat, possibly caused by an electrical malfunction.
Bill Barnes, general manager of Mountain Harbor Resort & Spa, says it's the first major fire at the resort's docks in its 53 years of operation on Lake Ouachita.
Barnes says a contractor will salvage the debris and boats, while Environmental Protection Agency officials will monitor pollution control.
