LR police arrest woman accused of striking officer
Police arrested Miranda Stewart on Monday afternoon in connection with the incident, which happened Friday at Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock.
Officer Megan Jones was working off duty at Park Plaza Mall when a woman and a man entered the mall and began "acting suspiciously," Lt. Terry Hastings said. Store employees believed the couple was planning to rob the store so Jones tried to stop them from leaving, Hastings said.
Hastings says Stewart got into her car and attempted to leave. Hastings says Jones landed on top of the car as she was trying to get out of the way. Jones was in stable condition Monday, but Hastings described her injuries as "very serious."
