Chancellor search starting at UAMS
(2008-09-03)
(UALR Public Radio) - An advisory committee has been named to help find candidates to serve as the next chancellor of the state's only medical school.

Sugg said the University of Arkansas Foundation has hired the Witt/Kieffer executive search firm to assist in reviewing and recommending candidates.

UAMS Chancellor I. Dodd Wilson has announced he will retire effective June 30.

Sugg said the committee will work to identify the top candidates, whose named will be forwarded to the university's Board of Trustees, which will make the final hiring decision.

The advisory committee is to hold its first meeting on Thursday, which will formally begin the search.

Sugg will chair the 20-member panel, which features medical, academic and business leaders.
