Beebe appoints oil exec to Game and Fish
(2009-07-01)
(UALR Public Radio) - Gov. Mike Beebe has appointed an El Dorado oil and gas executive to the state's Game and Fish Commission.

Beebe on Wednesday appointed Emon Mahony of El Dorado to a seven-year term to the seven-member board. Mahony is 68 and fills the position held by outgoing Commissioner Freddie Black.

Mahony has been president of Mahony Corp., an oil-and-gas business in Union county, since 1996. Before that, he spent 20 years with the Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Corp, spending most of that time as the company's president.

Mahony is the brother of former Democratic state Rep. Jodie Mahony of El Dorado.
