Panel recommends Proctor be removed from bench
(2009-06-26)
(UALR Public Radio) - The Arkansas Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission has recommended that a Pulaski County circuit judge be removed from the bench for having too close of a relationship with some defendants who were on probation.

Friday's decision will now head to the Arkansas Supreme Court, which will determined whether Judge Willard Proctor should be removed from the bench.

Proctor faced an ethics charge over his Cycle Breakers probation program. The commission investigated Proctor for financially benefiting from the program and for his relationship with probationers. According to testimony, Proctor sent money to one probationer and also let him stay at his house.
