Art works in Eureka Springs stir controversy
(UALR Public Radio) -
In 2005 a crumbling retaining wall in downtown Eureka Springs was transformed into an outdoor public gallery called The Artery. 25 artists were chosen to paint a 4 by 8 foot panel based on a chosen theme.
The colorful art collection, which changes annually, can be viewed from various vantage points around the city. But some view the free gallery as big problem.
Jacqueline Froelich with station KUAF reports on the controversy and recent efforts to quell it.
