Governor: Lottery should be what voters thought
(2009-06-24)
(UALR Public Radio) - Gov. Mike Beebe says he believes Arkansas lottery games should be consistent with what the voters thought they were voting on when they approved state lotteries.

And the governor said Wednesday that he doesn't remember any discussion about keno before voters in November adopted the constitutional amendment authorizing lotteries.

Keno is similar to bingo or a lottery with players picking a group of numbers and winning by matching numbers drawn by the house.

It's one game lottery director Ernie Passailaigue (PASS'-a-lay) says he hopes to include.

But he also says he wants input from the governor and others before deciding whether to go forward with such plans.
