PRI's The World - Geo Quiz Podcast 270 Galapagos Wind Power
The winds are blowin' us toward an island off the coast of Ecuador for our Geo Quiz. The island's named after a saint... a saint associated with storms, epilepsy, gardeners, toothache - and most notably - travel. The place is one of the Galapagos Islands--which are part of Ecuador. Now it's home to three towering wind turbines, which could provide the islands with 100 percent renewable energy by the year 2015. Name the island with the tall towers, and we'll tell you more about them.
The World's Geo Quiz tests your knowledge of world geography, and introduces you to fascinating people and places around the globe. The World is a US-based international news and analysis program co-produced by the BBC World Service, Public Radio International, and WGBH Boston.
